ITV1 HD Granada on Freesat HD boxes

Originally posted at www.satandpcguy.com/forum

A change to the frequency for ITV1 HD Granada has meant some Freesat users may not be able to receive ITV1 HD Granada.

The solution to the loss of ITV1 HD Granada on Freesat HD boxes to simply perform a Freesat channel scan. The Freesat channel scan should pick up the new frequency parameters for ITV1 HD Granada.

ITV1 HD Granada new frequency is 10.936 V DVB-S2, SR 23.000, FEC 8/9 This change to the ITV1 HD Granada frequency means that it cannot be added manually to the Sky HD and Sky+HD boxes Other channels list.

Police investigate hacking of Canal+ in Spain - card sharing network investigated

According to reports, a judge in Alicante, Spain, is investigating a network dedicated to hacking the internet signal for the Canal+ platform, according to sources close to the investigation.

The investigation, which is the responsibility of the Technology Crime Brigade National Police, involves dozens of people in Spain in the Cordoba town of Lucena.

It is alleged that a users' forum illegally discharged the signal, a type of crime known as card sharing, which provides illicit access to pay-TV broadcasts.

The Alicante court has identified two of the users, while a third has been accused, according to sources.

The police investigations are continuing, with fraud relating to Digital+, Csat, Canal+ (France), Premiere (Germany), Canal Digital (Holland), BSkyB (Sky TV UK) and other similar pay-TV operators.

New Sky HD EPG being rolled out from today

Sky has today launched a new enhanced electronic programme guide (EPG) for Sky+ HD customers, bringing a revamped high definition interface and closer integration of video on-demand.

The satellite broadcaster's EPG is used by more than 10m customers in the UK - including 4.22m Sky+ HD subscribers - to access live channels, video on-demand and a range of other services.

Sky said that all customers on average interact with the EPG more than 1.2 billion times every month, meaning its functionality is of key importance.

The new Sky Guide, which starts rolling out to set top boxes from today, brings a number of enhancements to make it easier for Sky+ HD customers to locate and discover new and favourite shows.

Sky said that the new Sky Guide will roll out in a phased programme to all Sky+ HD boxes by the end of the year.

This started today with Sky+HD 890 and 895 boxes, and will subsequently move on to Pace, Samsung and Sky+HD 780 boxes later this year.

4Seven: the new TV channel from Channel 4 with programmes chosen by Facebook

Channel 4 will launch a new TV channel called 4Seven next month screening repeats of the programmes viewers and critics have most talked about from the previous seven days, prefaced by a snappy selection of their comments, good and bad.

The channel, which takes its place alongside E4, More4 and Film4, will keep open the weekday 8pm and 10pm slots so that shows that create a critical buzz in newspapers, chatter on social media through Twitter and Facebook, and reaction on the overnight log of comments kept by the broadcaster can be repeated the next day.

"We think it is the first time a channel has incorporated the views of viewers into what goes on air. We will run a montage of comments before the programme starts, the rough with the smooth, not just propaganda," said Dan Brooke, Channel 4's chief marketing and communications officer. The rest of the programmes on 4Seven will be reruns of the most popular ones of the week, with the 9pm slot reserved for the programme shown on Channel 4 at 9pm the previous day. Weekends will be devoted to multiple repeats of the best-rated programmes of the past seven days.
