MTV BASE has been rebranded as MTV 90’s on Sky channel 352

MTV Classic has been rebranded as MTV 80’s on Sky channel 353.

Sky Cinema changes

Sky has made some changes to its Sky Cinema channels today.

Three of the channels are no longer available in Standard Definition (SD), and now only available in High Definition (HD).

UKTVs "W" channel to go free to air next week

UKTV groups "W" channel will go free to air this coming week.

W channel will no longer be fully part of a Sky subscription, as confirmed by Sky this week, ahead of a free-to-air relaunch of the channel.

It is expected to join UKTVs other free to air channels, Dave, Drama and Yesterday, on Freesat (on satellite), and Freeview (in the UK via a TV aerial), shortly afterwards. Freesat and Freeview channel numbers

Netflix account sharing update

Netflix is looking at ways of clamping down on account sharing, or at least make some more money from it, according to recent reports.

Netflix accounts should, according to their terms and conditions, only be shared with within their household.

However Netflix currently testing plans that will allow users to share their accounts and password more easily and securely, at a price.

ITV to launch ITVX replacing ITVHub

ITV today announced the launch of ITVX - the UK’s first integrated advertising and subscription funded (AVOD/SVOD) platform.

Although calling the service ITVX making it sound like ITV maybe moving into porn, ITVX is actually a service to to replace ITVHub.

Satellite Solar Outage Time Again - October 2021

It is that time of year again when the Sun / Solar Outage can affect the power of satellite signals your satellite dish is receiving, resulting in a loss of some of the more weaker UK TV channels.

This is information for people who may be experiencing this for the first time, and a nice reminder for those that have lived here before

This occurrence happens in March and October for a couple of weeks every year, around the time of the Spring and Autumn equinox. In the northern hemisphere, sun outages occur before the March equinox (February, March) and after the September equinox (September and October).

This "satellite solar outage" happens at around 10.30 - 11.30 am and can last for upto 20 minutes.
