Channel 5 frequency changes Nov 2022

It appears that Channel 5 will soon be changing frequencies, if not today, then sometime this week.

And this will also affect the other channels it operates as well : Channel 5+1, 5USA, 5USA+1, 5Star, 5Star +1, 5Select, 5 Action.

Frequency changes should not really affect viewers with Freesat set top boxes or Sky Digiboxes, as these changes will happen automatically.

But for users using "generic" satellite receivers, or TVs with built in satellite receivers, you will need to perform a manual scan for the channels on their new frequencies.

BBC to start switching off SD channels and go HD only

The BBC have announced plans to close their Standard Definition (SD) channels on satellite during 2023.

This will mean that the BBC channels will only be available in High Definition (HD) via satellite.

Users with a Freesat HD or Sky HD or Sky+HD set top box should not be affected, unless you watch BBC SD channels if you cannot receive BBC HD channels.

But users with older Freesat SD and Sky digiboxes will begin to lose services.

Changes to Radio Channel Numbers on Sky Guide

On Thursday 17th November 2022, Sky will be doing a channel number reorganisation for the Radio stations on the Sky EPG.

This will closing the gaps in the Radio genre of the EPG due to channel closures.

On Monday 21st November 2022, Sky will be doing a channel number reorganisation for the News channels on the Sky EPG.

This will closing the gaps in the News genre of the EPG due to channel closures, such as RT and Fox News.

Channel 4 to screen England v Pakistan T20 Final live in deal with Sky

Channel 4 and Sky have struck a deal that will allow the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Final featuring England against Pakistan to be shown free-to-air on Channel 4 on Sunday.

Coverage starts at 7am GMT this Sunday, 13th November.

ITV2HD,3HD and 4HD channels now on Freesat...

Last week we posted that ITV2 HD, ITV 3HD and ITV4 HD channels would soon be going free to air and probably available on Freesat.

ITV2HD,3HD and 4HD channel to go free to air??

The channels were added for free to Sky HD digiboxes last week.

But there has been a delay in getting these channels onto Freesat.

But they have been added to Freesat today (Tuesday 8th November 2022).

We also noted that reception of these HD channels could be hared to receive in Spain, especially in my service area.
