ITV1 +1 is back up and testing again.
Currently test are in the clear - ie with no sky card required, and are currently showing some ITV1 regions as part of the test.
But expect them to be encrypted and require a Sky card very soon.
ITV1+1 Frequency
11.973
V
27500
2/3
Tagged as 7450, 7455, 7560, 7565, and 7570
These are on a south beam frequency so reception with a sky card should be easily available in Spain on a small satellite dish when ITV1+1 is officailly launched.....assuming they do not change anything between onw and then.
ITV1+1 was originally scheduled for launch in October 2009, but was delayed.
EDIT / UPDATE:
The above information, posted in March 2010, is now out of date, as ITV1+1 launched on 11th January 2011 on Sky and Freesat. Click here to go to the post about ITV1+1 regions and frequencies and channel numbers for Sky and Freesat

Have you lost Channel Five, Fiver and Five USA in Spain? "This programme is not available"
If you have recently lost Five, Fiver and Five USA, and are getting a message on the screen saying "This programme is not available", then I am pretty sure that you are using a blue Sky viewng card.
This old blue Sky card will need to be replaced with a new white Sky viewng card.
Since April 2009, Sky have been issuing new replacement Sky cards.
On 1st March 2010, Sky started to deactivate the old blue Sky cards.
Should you wish to continue to watch the free to air TV channels then you will need a new replacement Freesat from Sky viewing card.
You can still get Five without a viewing card, by using the frequency settings as per these instructions : http://www.satandpcguy.com/Site/extra_secret_frequencies_channels_sky.php

Showtime Nilesat lose Formula 1
There are reports that that Showtime, available via subscription on Nilesat 7 West, have lost the rights to show Formula 1.
The rights are now with ADMC the same company who bagged the FA Premier League football rights for the Middle East.
Formula 1 in the Middle East will be broadcast FTA in Arabic on AD Sports 2, and, later in the year, in English on Abu Dhabi's new "encrypted channel."

Blue Sky Cards Out, New White Sky cards in - "This programme is not available" message on Sky boxes
The process of deactivating the old blue sky viewing cards is happening now.
Many people using these cards for the free to view channel, like Five and Fiver, are now unable to watch these channels, as the blue cards are now deactivated.
You may get an on screen message on some channels to the effect of "This programme is not available" - meaning your Sky card is no longer valid to receive that channel.
Only new white cards will work, as it has also been reported that Sky have now moved over to their new NDS3 encryption.
Expect a backlog as many people rush to try and get a new white card......or try sky.com/replacecard

Will UK TVs work in Spain?
Will UK TVs work in Spain?
Generally yes.
However the tuner inside the TVs may be different as
Spain uses VHF and UHF and the UK only UHF.
Any external equipment like DVD players, or satellite receiver will also work, as long as they are connected via a SCART, component or HDMI cables.
You may find you are unable to watch Spain analogue TV services, as they use a different frequency for their audio, so you may get a picture but no audio. This is not so much an issue as Spain has now moved to Digital Terrestrial TV.

ITV Regional changes
ITV are making some changes to the ITV1 regions on freesat on Tuesday 23rd February 2010, in preparation for future service improvements. This will only affect customers who receive ITV1 Central South and Central East, and residents on the Isle of Man. Customers in these areas using freesat+ will need to re-select any ITV1 programmes scheduled to record after Tuesday 23rd February 2010. This includes all series linked programmes on ITV1, where you have selected a whole series to record automatically. To re-select your recordings, simply go to the programme in the 8-day onscreen programme guide, and set it to record by pressing the record button on your remote control.
Satellite Frequency Settings For Sky TV in Spain
Frequency For Sky TV in Spain
A question that is asked frequency on Google is "What is the frequency for Sky TV in Spain?"
The answer is simple: you use the same frequncies for Sky TV in Spain as if you were in the UK.
UK TV abroad uses the same satellites and satellite frequencies as if you were using your Sky digibox in the UK. The UK TV channels available on Sky (of Freesat) come from the same group of four satellites: Astra 2a, Astra 2b, Astra 2d, and Eurobird 1. All UK TV channels are transmitted from one of the 90plus satellite transponder frequencies on these four satellites.
So if you want to watch Sky Sports 1 HD in the UK you will be using a satellite frequency of 11798 H 29500 3/4. If you want to watch Sky Sports 1 HD in Spain you will use the same frequency.
Here is a list of those frequencies used on Astra and Eurobird satellites for UK "Sky" and "Freesat" TV in the UK and abroad.
Sky Freesat Frequency Settings
There is of course another reason for asking this question - which could be interpretated as "What is the best default transponder frequency setting for Sky TV in Spain?"
I have mentioned this many times in other posts, so here are some links:

Why some UK channels are not for free on satellite / Freesat but they are in the UK on Freeview?
Why some UK channels are not for free on satellite / Freesat but they are in the UK on Freeview?
Hardly a day goes by without someone contact me asking for the frequency for Sky Sports News on Freesat.
There is no Sky Sports News frequency for Freesat receivers.
Although Sky Sports News is available for free on Freeview in the UK, on satellite Sky Sports News is a PAY TV channel only, and requires a monthly subscription to view. So even if you do input the Sky Sports News frequency of 12148 H 27.5 2/3 onto your Freesat receiver you still will not be able to watch it as you require a Sky SUBSCRIPTION.
There are many UK TV channels that are like this, that are available for free in the UK on Freeview, but not available on Freesat.
These channels include:
Sky 3
Yesterday
Dave
Dave ja vu
Virgin1
Five USA
Fiver
Quest
4Music
Viva
Sky Sports News
Some of these channels are available without a monthly Sky subscription, but do need a free to view card (also known as a freesatformsky viewing card.) These channels are Five USA, Fiver, Viva, Sky 3.
This also proves that you cannot receive Freeview in Spain. Freeview is a UK only TV service transmitted from the land based transmitters in the UK. These Freeview signals just do not reach Spain. So if you get a UK TV satellite installer who says they can get you Freeview, dont believe them as they cannot - test the installers by asking if the above channels will be available for free just like they are on Freeview.
