ITV keep Champions League highlights rights for 3 more years
Highlights of Champions League and Europa League matches will be shown on ITV until 2018 after agreeing a new deal with UEFA.
The deal guarantees coverage of the two competitions on free-to-air television for three years starting from the 2015/2016 season.
Each week during the competitions, ITV will show comprehensive highlights programmes covering all of the week's Champions League games on Wednesday nights and on Thursday nights for the Europa League.
ITV will also show highlights of both finals and the UEFA Super Cup, as part of the deal.
BT Sport recently paid close to £1bn for live rights for three years for the Champions League

Belarus v Spain - World Cup Qualifier - not on TV!!
Spanish soccer fans are in danger of missing the national team's World Cup 2014 qualifier away to Belarus later on Friday as no television broadcaster has agreed to pay the price set by rights holders Sportfive to show the match in Spain.
Mediaset Espana's Telecinco channel typically broadcasts the world and European champions' away matches but by Friday morning had failed to reach a deal with Sportfive, part of France's Lagardere media group.
Mediaset's director of sports Jose Javier Santos told Spanish radio on Thursday that Sportfive's original asking price was three million euros ($3.88 million) and that had later been cut to 1.5 million euros.
Mediaset's offer was "a long way from that", he said, adding that as far as he knew no other broadcaster was bidding.
Local media reported it would be the first time a Spain World Cup qualifier had not been shown on national TV.
A Spanish soccer federation (RFEF) official, who was not identified by name, was quoted as saying in As sports daily on Friday that they hoped a deal was still possible.
The situation had arisen because declining advertising revenue and the economic crisis had reduced the amount of money broadcasters can spend on buying the rights to sports events, the official added.
"It worries me that people in Spain might not be able to see the match and follow their national team and it would leave a bad taste," Spain coach Vicente del Bosque told a news conference in Minsk on Thursday.

Spanish TV Broadcasters settle La Liga spat, but no freeview for Madrid, Barca
The spat between Spanish broadcasters that threatened the start of the La Liga football season has been resolved, with the result that no matches featuring Real Madrid or Barcelona FC will be shown on free-to-air broadcast.
The season coverage will begin as scheduled this Sunday. Real Madrid is hosting Valencia and Barcelona faces Real Sociedad at home.
Canal+ and Mediapro have agreed to a three-year deal to share the television rights, with Canal+ showing 28 matches involving either Madrid or Barcelona, and Mediapro's pay-per-view channel airing a match featuring one of the two teams each weekend. Mediapro also nabbed the rights to one of the Clasico matchups betwee the two teams.
Mediapro will offer one match on their freeview channel each week, and retains the international TV rights for La Liga.
"The agreement...establishes a viable model for the Spanish league and presents a stable scenario for football fans [through 2015]," Mediapro said in a statement.
Carlos Martinez, director at Canal+, said that public broadcasters couldn't see their way clear to paying a premium for the sports content. "Free view TV was the first choice, but they lost out because the operators believed that the valuation was an exorbitant amount," he told reporters.
