Astra 2G Satellite - new launch date

After the scheduled launch of the Astra-2G satellite on the on November 28 was been postponed due to a malfunction of the complex command devices booster "Briz-M", a new launch date has been announced.

Some ITV1 and ITV1HD regional variations change of frequencies

ITV Frequency changes this past week.

This past week some ITV1,ITV1+1 and ITV 1 HD regions have changed their frequencies.

Sky and Freesat boxes should not have to do anything, as the changes should be automatic.

Users of other satellite receivers will have to perform a rescan of the frequencies if they want to continue watching the affected regions.

Astra 2G - Launch delayed

During tests at the Baikonur Cosmodrome on the "Proton-M" rocket spacecraft carrying the "Astra-2G" satellite an issue was found in complex command devices of the "Breeze-M" rocket boosters.

They will now be moving the launch vehicle from the launch pad to the assembly building 92A-50 for more tests and inspections to eliminate the identified faults.

Intelsat 907 - BBC Satback - Biss Codes Changed again

The BISS codes for the BBC Satback service on Intelsat 907 have changed again today.

What is unusual about this change is that it has only happened some two month after the previous BISS CODE key change for Intelsat 907.

Astra 2G satellite is the third and final new UK TV satellite for the 28.2 east orbital slot, scheduled for launch on the 28th November 2014.

However, recent reports suggest it may not be used immediately for UK TV, but will be located elsewhere for upto three months.

ILS Proton to Launch Astra 2G Satellite

ASTRA 2G is the third spacecraft of a three satellite investment programme (ASTRA 2E, 2F and 2G) that SES contracted with Airbus Defence and Space in order to provide replacement as well as incremental satellite capacity in the orbital arc of 28.2/28.5 degrees East. ASTRA 2G carries 62 Ku-band transponders as well as 4 Ka-band transponders. The different beams provide coverage over the UK and Ireland, Europe and West Africa.

Sky Sports Darts - dedicated chanel for the PDC World Championships

Sky Sports will for the first time dedicate an entire channel to darts this Christmas.

Sky Sports 3 will become Sky Sports Darts at 6am on December 18 and be the home of darts until January 5.

Sky Sports Darts will launch on December 18 and offer viewers over 370 hours of programming, including live coverage of one sport’s most colourful events, the William Hill World Darts Championship.

The channel will offer 18 days of non-stop tungsten television, as the biggest names in arrows battle for the Sid Waddell Trophy in front of sell-out crowds at Alexandra Palace.
Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis and defending champion ‘Mighty’ Michael van Gerwen will be amongst a field of 72 players from around the world, with every clash live on Sky Sports Darts.



As well as live coverage of the World Championship, Sky Sports Darts will screen a host of programmes and features including a fascinating documentary with reigning champion van Gerwen.
