Sky has confirmed the closure date for the Bravo channels as the 1st January 2011.
Sky acquired the Bravo / Living group of channels in June as part of the £160m deal to purchase the Living TV Group.
From January 1 next year, the Bravo family of channels - including Bravo, Bravo+1 and Bravo 2 - will cease broadcasting on all digital TV platforms, including Sky and Virgin Media.
Sky has decided to scrap the Bravo channel because it serves a similar demographic to Sky1.
Bravo, Bravo+1 and Bravo 2 will no longer be available after 31st December 2011.
They are being closed down and their programmes probably reallocated to Sky On and Sky Two.
Their Sky EPG data for the 1st January 2011 shows "No programme data available"
Channel One, the ex Virgin Channel, still has programme data available, so its closure may not be on the 1st January 2011 but later in the year.

Two CBS HD coming channels soon....
CBS, the mass media broadcasting company have been granted licenses for two new high-definition channels, CBS Action HD and CBS Drama HD.
The standard-definition counterparts are already broadcasted on Freesat (channel 137 and 134) and on Sky (channels 148 and 149).
CBS have always been known as a ‘free’ channel broadcaster in this country, with the majority of their channels FTA (free-to-air) available on both Freesat and Sky.
Itis unclear if these will be available for free (on Freesat), or if they will require a Sky HD subscription to view.
If they do lauch free to air then it would be a massive boost to Freesat , which presently only has 3 HD channels on the EPG; BBC1 HD, BBC HD and ITV1 HD.

Three new channels coming in 2011
Three "exciting new television channels" are expected in early 2011. They are expected to be free to air, but may end up being Freesat exclusive and not available on Sky boxes - at the moment this is unknown.
Electric Sofa Media, the UK’s newest broadcaster, plan to launch three new television channels on in early 2011.
The channels are focused on entertainment and film covering all ages:
Film GB – The first ever TV channel devoted exclusively to British cinema - a mixture of classic and new movies, including family favourites and brand new British films.
Sofa Stars – The new home of the best entertainment - entertainment, documentaries, dramas and daily news every weekday evening.
Sofa Screen – A new movie channel targeting 25-44 year olds - tearjerkers, family favourites, thrillers, horror, sci-fi and much more.
It is unknown if these will also be available on Sky boxes, as Freesat do seem to be getting some freesat exclusive channels - like the recently launched Movies For Men. Non Sky boxes should be Ok.

Sky High Definition EPG changes
According to reports, from the 1st February 2011, Sky will be changing the channel line up on Sky HD boxes.
Sky are reportably swapping the Standard Definition (SD) channel numbers with high definition (HD) channel numbers on 1 Feb 2011 for "residential viewers with an HD set top box and a subscription to one or more HD television channels distributed by Sky".
So, for example:
Sky1 HD will be listed at channel number 106 and Sky1 SD will be listed at channel number 170
and probably (although not confirmed)
401 Sky sports 1HD so sky sports 1sd moves to 408.
402 Sky sports 2HD so sky sports 2sd moves to 409.
403 Sky sports 3HD so sky sports 3sd moves to 418.
404 Sky sports 4HD so sky sports 3sd moves to 454.
405 Sky sportsNewsHD so sky sportsnews sd moves to 455.
