ILS Proton to Launch Astra 2G Satellite
ASTRA 2G is the third spacecraft of a three satellite investment programme (ASTRA 2E, 2F and 2G) that SES contracted with Airbus Defence and Space in order to provide replacement as well as incremental satellite capacity in the orbital arc of 28.2/28.5 degrees East. ASTRA 2G carries 62 Ku-band transponders as well as 4 Ka-band transponders. The different beams provide coverage over the UK and Ireland, Europe and West Africa.

Sky Sports Darts - dedicated chanel for the PDC World Championships
Sky Sports will for the first time dedicate an entire channel to darts this Christmas.
Sky Sports 3 will become Sky Sports Darts at 6am on December 18 and be the home of darts until January 5.
Sky Sports Darts will launch on December 18 and offer viewers over 370 hours of programming, including live coverage of one sport’s most colourful events, the William Hill World Darts Championship.
The channel will offer 18 days of non-stop tungsten television, as the biggest names in arrows battle for the Sid Waddell Trophy in front of sell-out crowds at Alexandra Palace.
Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis and defending champion ‘Mighty’ Michael van Gerwen will be amongst a field of 72 players from around the world, with every clash live on Sky Sports Darts.
As well as live coverage of the World Championship, Sky Sports Darts will screen a host of programmes and features including a fascinating documentary with reigning champion van Gerwen.

BeIN Sports (MENA) to show all EPL 3pm kickoff from this weekend!
But last season, the Premier League were concerned over piracy, they limited BeIN Sports to just one 3pm Saturday kick off.
To over come this, BeIN SPorts "went secure" - meaning their viewing cards could only be used in their official receiver. This, it was hoped would mean that all 3pm kick offs would return.
The Bein Website was updated to say that they would be showing all 380 games live. And even Richard Keys said on his twitter page in July that they would show all games live.

The English Premier League and beIN SPORTS has announced today the reinstatements of LIVE broadcast for Saturday "18:00 Mecca time" games in the Middle East & North Africa effective Nov. 8th. beIN SPORTS, the Exclusive TV Rights holder of English Premier League (EPL) in the MENA region, has restricted the LIVE broadcasting of Saturday "18:00 Mecca time" games since Nov. 2013 due to piracy concerns in UK. Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Chairman-CEO, said: “We are delighted to resume LIVE broadcast of all Saturday "18:00 Mecca time" games on beIN SPORTS channels. The English Premier League is a primary property and we are very happy to bring back this weekend excitement to our millions of subscribers in the region.” English Premier League CEO, Richard Scudamore added: “beIN SPORTS strong Anti-piracy measures have proved to be successful and we are very happy to work hand in hand with broadcasters to address the issue on a more global scale.”BeIN Sport have the rights to show all 380 Premier League games live.

TDT - Television Digital Terrestrial - is broadcast through waves, occupying a part of the frequency spectrum. This spectrum is shared by TV, radio, telephone and other communications.
So far TV has been using those between 21 and 69 channels.
However, in 2007 the European Commission agreed to allocate part of the spectrum occupied by television to mobile phones of the latest generation, known as 4G. In accordance with the European Directive, the Spanish Government stated that before January 1, 2015 channels 61 to 69, ie, the last 9 in the band used so far, will become available for the 4G.
This is what is called Digital Dividend.

For UK TV (Sky, Freesat) direct from the satellite, the recommended dish size for my service area is 125x135cm.
We use a Tecatel 125x135cm satellite dish, which we have found to outperform other satellite dishes of similar size - in both signal performance and build quality.
A smaller 100x110cm satellite can be used, which is the bare minimum sized dish for good reception.
Signals can be received on smaller satellite dishes (like the 90x100 "1m" satellite dish), but signals reception will not be stable.
Standard installation of a 125x135cm high performing satellite dish, wall bracket or floor stand, single output high performance LNB, and reasonable single cable run is 275 euros.
Add a Freesat HD satellite receiver, for 125 euros, and you can be watching over 100 subscription free UK TV channels, 11 of which in FULL HD.

Solar outage time - The solar outage, that causes a drop in signals as the satellite moves along the "satellite line" should now almost be over.
